Volunteer Opportunities with Keep Liberty Beautiful

There are a variety of activities that require volunteers throughout the year with KLB. Some activities are seasonal and held annually, some are quarterly events and some are ongoing activities with monthly involvement. Some events and activities are excellent volunteer options for groups or families or just a bunch of friends or neighbors who want to make a difference. Most KLB projects can include involvement of younger children with adult supervision, of course, or teens looking for an interesting community service activity. So whatever your lifestyle or schedule, there is a perfect volunteer opportunity for YOU!

Keep Liberty Beautiful programs and events include:

  • Great American Cleanup is held March through May and is part of a national effort to clean and beautify American communities
  • Earth Day (an annual celebration in April) and Arbor Day (celebrating trees in February) activities are held in the spring.
  • Rivers Alive cleanups which focus on cleanups to protect waterways and wetlands are held in the fall
  • America Recycles Day events and Recycle It! Fairs help to promote recycling and waste reduction.
  • Bring One for the Chipper is a Christmas Tree recycling event  held after Christmas and in early January .
  • Adopt Liberty projects offer opportunities for individuals, families or groups to select a special green space, roadway or waterway to 'adopt‘ throughout the year.. We also have  Road Warriors who work on roads throughout the year too.
  • Beautification Recognition Programs highlight homes (HomeProud) and businesses (Win-dex Awards) making a special effort to keep their places attractive. Awards are given quarterly.
  • Beautification projects, community education and youth education activities are held throughout the year. This year our focus will be on gateway projects for the county.
  • Stormwater Pollution awareness and community involvement are year-round  activities and include educational activities as well as storm drain stenciling projects.
